About the book
Since the death of her parents when she was just a girl, orphan Ann Feltonhas had to

Victoria Beckett and Viscount Richard Wyndham have none of Ann's worries. Both grew
up with silver spoons firmly in their mouths, and neither can understand Ann's struggles. But
before long Ann will change both their lives forever, and in turn one of them might just save
Ann from a fate worse than death...
My review
This book was everything that I hoped it would be and more. Lindsey Hutchinson's writing submerged me in a historical world of romance and crime and I hung onto every word. The plot was fast-paced and exciting, I simply couldn't put it down, so much so that I devoured it all in one sitting.
Class structure was a prominent feature that graced the pages of this novel which helped to shape characters and explore the many difficulties that were faced. Whether this was working class daily struggles or a romance that transgressed the class system.
Victoria was a fantastic character who I loved to hate. From the outset her spoilt upper-class antics had me hooked. I must say I certainly wasn't expecting such a dark twist of fate for this character which added an extra layer of thrilling excitement to an already gripping plot.
Ann and Lord Wyndham were a well thought out pair. Their relationship rose above the struggles of classism into a strong and formidable bond and I thoroughly enjoyed watching their journey progress throughout the book.
The Fallen Women is a gripping historical story filled with love, boundless friendship and murder. It's fast-paced and will keep you on your toes with many unexpected twists and turns. It's certainly not a book to be missed.
